iH8Sn0w has released a beta of Sn0wbreeze a software utility which jailbreaks the iPod Touch 1G, 2G and iPhone 2G, 3G, and 3G[S](old bootrom & non MC).
The software requires Windows XP, Vista, 7 (32 or 64 bit), .NET Framework 3.5, and 256mb of RAM to run.
Sn0wbreeze is similar to PwnageTool for Mac. It will allow you to create custom ipsws which can be built to include Cydia applications and personalized boot logos.
Currently, the beta only supports SIMPLE mode. SIMPLE mode only provides a jailbroken and activated ipsw. iH8Sn0w has announced that EXPERT mode will be completed by Monday at which time a final version of the application will be released. Read the full story
Apple is looking to upgrade its Windows EasyPay handheld checkout system to an iPod touch based system by Christmas, according to an AppleInsider report.
Sources confirm that Apple is finalizing the new EasyPay terminals which consist of an iPod touch combined with a credit card reader and barcode scanner.
One reader reported that the new devices are already being used to ring up sales at Apple’s Valley Fair Mall store in Santa Clara, California, the closest retail outlet to the company’s corporate headquarters in Cupertino.
GeoHot has released his BlackRa1n jailbreak for Windows users only.
BlackRa1n should work on all devices using OS 3.0 and up. Please note that the new iPod touch requires a tethered jailbreak. Meaning, if you let the battery die you will need to use BlackRa1n to boot it again.

Apple has announced a new version of the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows.
With the new version 1.5 you can assign your primary MobileMe calendar to sync with the default calendar in Microsoft Outlook. Any other MobileMe calendars you have will continue to sync with Outlook and appear as separate calendars. The new control panel also delivers improvements for syncing bookmarks between Internet Explorer and Safari, and provides compatibility with Windows 7. Read the full story
