The WSJ is reporting that the Verizon iPhone will debut with an unlimited data on Tuesday.

Verizon Wireless, the country’s largest wireless carrier, is confident enough in its network that it will offer unlimited data-use plans when it starts selling the iPhone around the end of this month, a person familiar with the matter said. Such plans would provide a key means of distinguishing its service from rival AT&T Inc., which limits how much Internet data such as videos and photos its customers may use each month.

Steve Jobs will likely make an appearance at what is predicted to be a Verizon iPhone event, according to Digital Daily.

While the appearance isn’t 100 percent assured, sources in a position to know tell me that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Jobs will likely join McAdam onstage in New York when he announces the addition of the iPhone to its handset lineup.

The WSJ has also confirmed the event will announce the CDMA iPhone. The largest U.S. wireless carrier will make the long-awaited announcement at an event Tuesday in New York City, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.

Verizon is sending out invitations to a special press event that will be held on Tuesday, January 11th in New York City .

TechCrunch’s MG Siegler notes that this invite is a bit different than normal.

BGR has confirmed with a source close to Apple that employee vacation requests between February 3rd and February 6th are blocked.

Back in June of last year, Apple picked the dates of 24th to the 27th for its iPhone 4 weekend launch — also a Thursday through Sunday. In addition, Verizon Wireless typically launches new devices on Thursdays. While BGR has not yet confirmed that the Verizon iPhone is the device we’ll see debut on the 3rd, the timing lines up very well with previous reports; no other Apple products have been rumored to be launching in this time frame.

An analyst at Rodman & Renshaw claims that the upcoming Apple iPad 2 will feature a dual-core CPU to compete with the likes of RIM PlayBook, and the Android “Honeycomb” based Motorola Tablet.
The analyst said:

Apple is on track to refresh the iPad by March and iPhone by late summer. A key component upgrade across these platforms will be a dual-core processor featuring a pair of 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 cores.

If this happens, it will be the first iOS product from the Cupertino-based company to sport a dual-core chip. And since both the current iPad and iPhone 4 shares same A4 CPU, it will be a no brainer for Apple to include the same chip in iPhone 5 that they are going to use in iPad 2.
