Even though you probably still can’t figure out what good the ability to connect your Bluetooth keyboard to your iPhone will do, the BTstack project is steaming ahead with this demo of a connected Magic Mousetwirling its pointer all over Apple’s handset. The driver code is still unreleased, but we get to see some nice lag-free interaction between the two devices, suggesting it shouldn’t be too far away from public consumption. MuscleNerd has announced a few CommCenter hacks which enable iPhone 2G MMS and iPhone 3G/3GS tethering.
iPhone 2G owners can enable native MMS with a patch by Wh1terat and geniusan. This procedure will modify your CommCenter and as such is quite dangerous. Only advanced users should attempt the steps found here.

Let’s be clear upfront that this isn’t for the casual iPhone jailbreaker, but if you feeling like living on the edge, you can give your original model an added boost of MMS capability, or any device with OS 3.1.2 the power to tether. Apple has blocked the IPCC tethering hack used to activate iPhone tethering on the AT&T network, according to a TUAW report.
TUAW has learned that, with the release of iPhone OS 3.1 beta 2, tethering via the IPCC hack no longer works for AT&T customers. While iPhone OS 3.0 provides support for tethering, AT&T has yet to officially support it. As a workaround to obtain tethering (as well as MMS for some), some users have modified their carrier files (IPCC). As of 3.1 beta 2, this no longer works.

O2 has announced that they will disconnect users who tether their iPhones without purchasing a specific plan from them, according to a TechRadar report.
The company is upset with such procedures as this which make it easy to input the tethering settings into your iPhone.
“Internet rumours suggest that some customers have modified their iPhone to enable Internet Tethering without the purchase of the Internet Tethering Bolt On. Any use of this particular feature without the purchase of the Bolt on is specifically prohibited under our terms of service.
