Apple and Verizon have made a million dreams come true: the iPhone is coming to Big Red. According to a Bloomberg report, Verizon Wireless will also sell a version of the iPad that directly connects to their network. It is unclear on whether it will be based off of CDMA or LTE technologies.

Verizon will get an embedded chip in the iPad for use on its network, Francis Shammo, chief financial officer of Verizon Communications Inc., the parent of the wireless unit, said today in an interview in New York. IPad users currently need an extra device to connect to Verizon’s network. Shammo declined to say when the change may happen.

In October of 2010, Verizon started selling the iPad with a Mifi hotspot bundle ranging from $629.99 to $829.99. Currently, the iPad only operates on AT&T’s 3G network.

Verizon today announced that it will finally be carrying the Apple iPhone 4 at a press event in New York City.

“Today we’re partnering with a giant of the industry, and that’s Apple.”

The WSJ is reporting that the Verizon iPhone will debut with an unlimited data on Tuesday.

Verizon Wireless, the country’s largest wireless carrier, is confident enough in its network that it will offer unlimited data-use plans when it starts selling the iPhone around the end of this month, a person familiar with the matter said. Such plans would provide a key means of distinguishing its service from rival AT&T Inc., which limits how much Internet data such as videos and photos its customers may use each month.

Hauppauge has announced a new live TV streamer for the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Called “Broadway”, this new stand alone “box” from Hauppauge’s PCTV Systems division allows live TV to be watched on an Apple device in the home through a WiFi connection, or anywhere in the world via an Internet connection.

Broadway can be used in the home, for example, to watch a football game or a news program on your iPad. Your iPad will display a list of Broadway provided TV channels from your cable TV network, and once you have chosen a TV channel, touching the iPad screen with your finger will prompt the live TV program to fill the entire screen.

Verizon and Apple will reportedly announce a LTE iPhone 4 right after Christmas.

Verizon launched its 4G LTE Network in 38 major metropolitan areas on December 5th. The company expects 4G LTE average data rates in real-world, loaded network environments to be 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
