The Verizon iPhone Available February 10th The Verizon iPhone Available February 10th(0)

Apple and Verizon have made a million dreams come true: the iPhone is coming to Big Red. After talking up his new LTE network a bit, Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam confirmed a CDMA (non-LTE) version of the iPhone 4 is coming to Verizon Wireless next month. Talks started way back in 2008, and the phone has been in testing for a year — it sounds like they wanted to get this one right. Current Verizon customers will be able to pre-order on Feburary 3rd for the standard $200 price for the 16GB model on a two year agreement, $300 for the 32GB version — everyone else can order on February 10th (see it compared with AT&T’s iPhone 4). Just to clarify and put any wild rumors to bed, the phone Read More

Verizon is Also Getting the iPad CDMA or LTE Verizon is Also Getting the iPad CDMA or LTE(0)

According to a Bloomberg report, Verizon Wireless will also sell a version of the iPad that directly connects to their network. It is unclear on whether it will be based off of CDMA or LTE technologies.

Verizon will get an embedded chip in the iPad for use on its network, Francis Shammo, chief financial officer of Verizon Communications Inc., the parent of the wireless unit, said today in an interview in New York. IPad users currently need an extra device to connect to Verizon’s network. Shammo declined to say when the change may happen.

In October of 2010, Verizon started selling the iPad with a Mifi hotspot bundle ranging from $629.99 to $829.99. Currently, the iPad only operates on AT&T’s 3G network.

Lowell Macadam brings Apple’s Tim Cook on stage to speak about the device.

Verizon iPhone to Debut With Unlimited Data Plan Verizon iPhone to Debut With Unlimited Data Plan(0)

The WSJ is reporting that the Verizon iPhone will debut with an unlimited data on Tuesday.

Verizon Wireless, the country’s largest wireless carrier, is confident enough in its network that it will offer unlimited data-use plans when it starts selling the iPhone around the end of this month, a person familiar with the matter said. Such plans would provide a key means of distinguishing its service from rival AT&T Inc., which limits how much Internet data such as videos and photos its customers may use each month.

• Apple is “helping” U.S. carriers (money?) to build out LTE more quickly
