Verizon is Also Getting the iPad CDMA or LTE(0)
According to a Bloomberg report, Verizon Wireless will also sell a version of the iPad that directly connects to their network. It is unclear on whether it will be based off of CDMA or LTE technologies. Verizon will get an embedded chip in the iPad for use on its network, Francis Shammo, chief financial officer of Verizon Communications Inc., the parent of the wireless unit, said today in an interview in New York. IPad users currently need an extra device to connect to Verizon’s network. Shammo declined to say when the change may happen. |

HBO Go is Headed to the iPad(0) In six months, HBO Go will be available to channel subscribers at no additional cost and it will stream to mobile devices including the iPad, according to HBO Co-President Eric Kessler. Bloomberg notes that HBO Go, which provides 800 hours a month of the channel’s movies and TV shows, has agreements to offer online programming to customers who get pay-TV service through Comcast Corp. and Verizon Communication Inc.’s FiOS. Netflix has been trying to make a deal with HBO to stream their content; however, it’s unlikely this will happen. |
