As part of the Pwn2Own 2010 hacking contest, Vincenzo Iozzo and Ralf Philipp Weinmann created an exploit which allows them to hijack fully-patched iPhones’ SMS databases—right down to deleted messages—simply by luring users to a “rigged” website.

All it does is patch three files, CommCenter, lockdownd, and your wildcard activation plist(which you need, activate w at&t sim first, no hacktivation support yet). The iPhone Dev Team has officially released their 3G unlock, code-named yellowsn0w, to the Cydia app installer, which if not already available, should be available for download as soon as they get their repository in order. They also explained the message from earlier today. Interestingly, the unlock is not only able to unlock the latest firmware build, but requires it to work.
