Atinco America has announced the release of Domino Touch HD 1.1, an update to their classic dominoes game exclusively for the iPad. Featuring detailed, high definition graphics, Domino Touch HD is an iPad-only version of their best-selling Domino Touch for the iPhone and iPod touch. The game supports play against 1 – 3 virtual players whose tiles are hidden. Graphical refinements include animated dealing of tiles, marble tiles with inlaid pips, green felt domino table, and autorotation. Other gameplay refinements are sound effects, automatic scoring at the end of each round, score displays for each player, and game limits of 100, 250 or 500 points.

Game Developer Research says that Apple is winning the race among handheld game developers: 19 percent write now for the iPhone and iPod touch. That’s more than double the amount of Nintendo DS and Sony PSP developers. Other interesting figures:
