Geohot has shut down the iPhone blog he used to announce and release jailbreaks over the past few years.
Visiting the site now says, “This blog is open to invited readers only”.
This comes after his recent announcement of achieving a jailbreak for the iPhone 4 without plans for public release was met with a lot of negativity.
His last update to the blog read:
Sorry, this post was probably a bad idea. Next time I won’t say anything. I miss when this blog was actually about technical things(I’ve been reacting too much to the feedback, which led it to the place it’s in now). I didn’t fully realize most of the current scene don’t care unless they are getting something. Now I do. It’s late tonight, I’ll think about what to do about this in the morning.

It seems as though a hacker has taken control of numerous iTunes accounts and used them to purchase fake iBooks from the App Store.
According to Engadget, 42 of the top 50 books by revenue are from the seller Thuat Nguyen, whose company website (“mycompany”) leads to parked site www.home.com. Most of these books have strange names such as “Conan 1″, “Conan 2″, “Thuy Hu P1″, “Thuy Hu P2″, etc. and are in Vietnamese even though they are listed as English.

TurboSn0w2 and the new Thunderst0rm jailbreaks for iPhone OS 3.1.3 are FAKE; DO NOT INSTALL.

A French 3D modeler called Jpog has admitted to making the iPhone 4G back cover images with 3DS Max, reveals MobileCrunch.
It’s likely he used Photoshop to add the grainy spy shot feel to the photos.
While the images have been proven fake many are hopeful that Apple will extend its aluminum design to the iPhone; which would give it a nice solid feel similar to the iPad.

We have heard a lot about flaming iPods, but what a Dutch blog claims happened to this iPhone 3G is something else entirely.
The damage is so extensive it looks as though the iPhone was dropped by an astronaut, survived re-entry and smashed into the car like a meteor. Needless to say, I am immediately inclined to drop this in the “phony” file—although I applaud the over-the-top imagery.
