The iPhone Dev-Team has released an update to RedSn0w fixing several issues with the older version.

Version b5b fixes an issue with using custom ramdisks on iPhone3G and iPod2G, and version b5c prevents redsn0w from crashing due to the ever-growing ramdisk size .
TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data was found, you can always pre-select the appropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.

Zeppelin is a MobileSubstrate tweak that enables easy Carrier Logo switching in iOS, reports ModMyi.

Zeppelin doesn’t just change your carrier text, it lets you replace that text with an image. The tweak includes a few default images: Android, Aperture Science, Assassin’s Creed, Batman, Beats by dre, Blue Cloud, Infiniti, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Superman, Triforce.

If you want to add your own icons you can use iFile or SSH to place them in /Library/Zeppelin.

Custom Siri Background is a tweak by Ori Kadosh that lets you easily change Siri’s background wallpaper.

This lets you customize Siri’s background with a simple cell in settings that lets you choose either a photo from your photo library or you can take one (if you have camera enabled device).

It is very much like a tweak I made not a while ago – Custom NC Background. Only that this changes Siri’s background and Custom NC Background changes the notification center background.

iPhone 4S carrier testing performed by Metrico Wireless found that Verizon wireless is the most reliable and AT&T is the fastest, according to LRM.

Metrico did its first round of tests back in March on the iPhone 4 with AT&T and Verizon. But, now that all three carriers have Apple Inc.’s latest 4s iPhone, the vendor spent the past month performing more than 21,000 Web-page downloads, 8,000 download/upload tests and 6,000 voice calls on real and simulated networks, stationary and in motion.

The iPhone Dev-Team has released RedSn0w 0.9.9b7 which brings a new faster jailbreak option.

After some feedback on reddit, we’ve decided to make the initial jailbreak as quick as possible by no longer “stashing” the applications by default during the redsn0w run.  This reduces the time to actually perform the jailbreak from 210 seconds to 80 seconds (60 percent!).  However, you make up for much of that the first time you launch Cydia, which will then want to stash the applications.  You can choose whether you want redsn0w or Cydia to stash in the Preferences panel.
