T-Mobile to Offer Unlocked iPhone Customers Additional Support(0) A leaked T-Mobile document reveals that the company will soon begin offering additional support to its unlocked iPhone customers, reports TMONews. Starting on January 30th, T-Mobile will “begin offering additional support to customers using an Apple iPhone on our network.” T-Mobile’s added iPhone support will include “common procedures, information about feature and specifications and other basic device questions.” T-Mobile is implementing these changes to support the 1 million plus users on the Magenta network with unlocked iPhones. While T-Mobile is not currently an official carrier for the iPhone, the next generation phone is said to use a chip that supports the AWS spectrum band used by the network. iPhone 5 to have 8MP Camera, CDMA-GSM Qualcomm Chip(0) FBR Capital Markets predicts the iPhone 5 will begin production in Q3 featuring an 8MP camera and a Qualcomm CDMA-GSM chip, according to PCWorld. In a research note, FBR says they expect about about 20 million iPhones will be produced in the third quarter with the iPhone 5 accounting for about 8 million of those. OmniVision is predicted to be the supplier of an 8 megapixel CMOS sensor with Sony being a possible backup supplier. |

iPhone 6 to Use Sharp P-Si LCD(0) Apple has reportedly selected Sharp’s poly-silicon LCD display for the 2012 iPhone 6, according to Japanese newspaper Nikkan. The paper reports that Sharp will begin manufacturing of the displays in the spring of 2012 and has already begun preparing equipment at its Kameyama Plant No. 1. The low-temperature poly-silicon technology allows for thinner and lighter screens that consume less power than traditional LCD screens, according to AppleInsider. Apple Will Start Shipping iPhone 5 in September(0) Reuters is reporting that Apple will begin shipping the iPhone 5 in September. Apple Inc suppliers will begin production of its next-generation iPhone in July this year, with the finished product likely to begin shipping in September, three people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
