LimeRa1n or SHAtter Jailbreaks Not Working on iPad 2 LimeRa1n or SHAtter Jailbreaks Not Working on iPad 2(0)

Musclenerd has announced that as predicted the iPad 2 is not susceptible to Limera1n.

iPad2 bootrom version iBoot-838.3 means it was compiled March’10. Seems geohot guessed right: limera1n was already closed

Also, it looks like Apple has blocked SHAtter as well.

Early testing also seems to show at least one thing SHAtter depends on was gone by March 2010 too

SHAtter can’t work at all with the “thing” I referred to gone

Another iPhone 4 Model is Headed to China? Another iPhone 4 Model is Headed to China?(0)

Apple may be set to release a third model of the iPhone 4 which will be supplied to China and other countries.

Yesterday, references to an iPhone3,3 model were found in the iOS 4.3 beta firmware. Today, Digitimes reports that there are two models of the CDMA iPhone.

Pegatron started shipping its CDMA iPhone 4 in January 2011 and Foxconn started in December 2010. Foxconn’s model will be solely supplied to the US, while Pegatron’s model will be supplied to China and other countries. Since US-based telecom carrier Verizon currently has over 93 million users in the US, the launch of CDMA iPhone is expected to double the number of the current iPhone users in the market.

The CDMA iPhone is said to have a bill of materials estimated at US$190-200, lower than iSuppli’s BOM for the first-generation iPhone of US$217.73, but higher than the iPhone 3G/3GS at US$166-170.8 and the iPhone 4G at US$188. The site expects Apple to reach a new Read More

Verizon is Also Getting the iPad CDMA or LTE Verizon is Also Getting the iPad CDMA or LTE(0)

According to a Bloomberg report, Verizon Wireless will also sell a version of the iPad that directly connects to their network. It is unclear on whether it will be based off of CDMA or LTE technologies.

Verizon will get an embedded chip in the iPad for use on its network, Francis Shammo, chief financial officer of Verizon Communications Inc., the parent of the wireless unit, said today in an interview in New York. IPad users currently need an extra device to connect to Verizon’s network. Shammo declined to say when the change may happen.

In October of 2010, Verizon started selling the iPad with a Mifi hotspot bundle ranging from $629.99 to $829.99. Currently, the iPad only operates on AT&T’s 3G network.

Synchronicity updated to 2.0 Synchronicity updated to 2.0(0)

Synchronicity is a popular jailbreak mod that allows you to use your iPhone while it’s syncing with iTunes. Instead of being stuck with a lock screen while your iPhone is syncing with your computer, Synchronicity allows you to run apps, make calls, etc. Basically anything is fair game, except for the iPod app (to prevent data corruption with iTunes).

This mod has been a favorite of ours since it was released back in August; it even made it pretty far up our “Top 10 Jailbreak Apps for 2010“ list. ?If you don’t have Synchronicity, you should.

Synchronicity was recently updated to 2.0 status. The mod was already super lightweight and unobtrusive, but 2.0 makes it even better with a design tweak and some enhancements…

Previously, Synchronicity would display as a red, tethering-style bar over the iPhone’s status bar. This notified that a sync with iTunes was occurring, and removed that annoying Read More

Geohot New Jailbreak Rubyra1n Geohot New Jailbreak Rubyra1n(0)

Domain registration records reveal that Geohot has registered the domain, according to thetechjournal.

According to Whois records, Blackra1n, Limera1n & Rubyra1n are registered under George Hotz.It looks like, Geohot registered Limera1n & Rubyra1n back in March, 2010. With that said, don’t expect a Rubyra1n Jailbreak anytime soon. Because, Limera1n exploit is capable of jailbreaking all current iOS Device. So, it seems, GeoHot is going to use Rubyra1n, for the Next Gen iPad [iPad 2] / Next Gen iPhone [iPhone 5 / CDMA iPhone].

The limera1n domain was discovered in April and did end up being used for an important jailbreak release. Hopefully, rubyra1n has an exciting future as well. Currently, the domain is parked with GoDaddy.
