Many of you guys are having problems during installation of installous. Although hackulo.us Repository is overloaded and causing errors, cydia is having problems also in iPhone OS 3.0. If you are receiving errors like below
- size mismatch ….
- Hash Sum ….
- iphoneguide.nl …
- Cannot find executable
You can install Icy and continue installation from there. Icy is another application works likecydia but faster and more lightweight compared to cydia. Here are the steps to install Icy then Installous on the Iphone OS 3.0
- Launch Cydia
- Go to “Manage” then tap “Sources”
- Tap “Edit“
- Tap “Add“
- Type in http://apt.ripdev.com and Tap “Add Source“
- Search and Install “Icy“
- Go to Home screen and Launch “Icy“
- Tap “Sources” at the bottom
- Again Tap “Edit” then “Add“
- Type in http://cydia.hackulo.us and Tap “Add“
- Tap “Refresh” on top left
- Go to “Categories“
- Search for “Installous” and Install it

When i try to add cydia.hackulo.us to icy it says bad source. I had installous on my iphone already but removed it cause it wouldn’t respond for me. It was working fine though until today. Now i cant add the hackulo source to get it back. Any suggestions?

I love me some icy but unfortunately it doesnt support cydia software updates and thats why the hash error comes up.
all yu have to do is rejailbreak(dont restore) and when you do check off icy so that it doesn’t install and get all your updates from cydia
if you still want icy get it after your updates

well i installed http://cydia.hackulo.us and installous on i iphone 3gs in order to use some ipa files….. after the installation the phone needed a reboot (restart)…. after restarting the phone, it is just giving me a blank bluish screen….. and it keeps on restarting on it own but not showing anything on the screen….. when i conect it to the itunes the iphone syncs but still does not appear anyhing on the screen……….. PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE…..

go to cydia, manage, sources ,
and add cydia.hackulo.us ..
then delete your old source which may be Hackulo.us
then search and install installous !!
this worked for my 3g . 3.0.1 firmware

It works just but a backslash at the end of the source . At first I got “bad source” error. Instead of http://cydia.hackulo.us do http://cydia.hackulo.us/ . That simple little backslash changes the whole configuration . Hope this helps!
You have to put a backslash at the end of the “source”. I tried it and got the same error message everyone got . Follow the steps exactly and instead of entering http://cydia.hackulo.us enter http://cydia.hackulo.us/ , it’s really that simple. Good Luck !

Hey I figured it out. I went into Rock and searched Erica utilities and downloaded it.then went back into icy and searched installous and downloaded. It worked and is on my springboard. Hope this will help someone.

i do everything I install in sources the cydia.hackulo, but when a go to categories and find INSTALLOUS and try to install the app told me in the proces that I need COM>ERICASANDUN.UTILITIES how can I resolve the prblem? thnx

For those of you who get the ERICA Error after trying to install Installous this is what you need to do.
Go to Categories. Search for Erica Utilities/ Install it.
Go back to Categories. Search for Installous/ Install it.
Bingo it should work.
