At the same time that they announced Skype Lite would be making it’s way to Android, the company also announced that a version for the iPhone is in the works. It isn’t yet known if the app will be able to make calls on the 3G network, but it will bring free VoIP calling to the device. Scott Curschlang, Skype’s chief operating officer, says they are currently working to cut down on the power the app uses to run, but didn’t comment on when it would be ready for release.

Perhaps most interesting was that no mention of the iPod Touch was made.
