Last week it was discovered by MobileCrunch that UStream is working on creating a mobile video streaming service to compete with Qik, but no word about what devices would be supported was available at the time. Now they have received photographic evidence that they are making a competing client for the iPhone as well.

Not surprisingly, they say the photograph is pretty blurry, but it does show what looks like a video stream, complete with a chat at the bottom portion of the screen and buttons for ‘broadcast’, ‘record’, ‘mute’, and ‘preferences’. We haven’t gotten any confirmation from UStream yet, but it’s pretty convincing.
Sadly, Apple is still refusing to allow any sort of video recording software into the App Store, so this will probably be restricted to jailbroken devices, just like Qik.
Well keep you posted with details as they come in.
